Well I think I figured out why my fish jumped out of the tank a few days ago! I noticed him darting around in the tank today, only for a few seconds at a time, and I thought "Jeeze if he keeps that up he's going to end up jumping out on accident again!" Later I decided to do a peroxide swab on some scales that he injured during his jump out of the fish tank. As I was swabbing I noticed a fish louse on his tail! It was so hard to see because he's calico and his tail is white with a lot of black speckling, but I plucked off the louse with some tweezers. I can't seem to see any more on him, but I'm kind of worried now. I ordered a bottle of "Microbe-Lift Lice and Anchor Worm Treatment" but it wont be here until Wednesday. Is there anything else I can do in the mean time? I already have the tank at 1% aquarium salt to help with the fish's recovery from his jumping incident, should I raise the % salt? Or is there anything else I can do? I don't have any invertebrates in the tank so I was thinking maybe I could add some type of fish medication that contains copper to the tank because I know copper is toxic to most aquatic invertebrates? I don't really know D: thanks!
