    Baking soda is Sodium bicarbonate - it contains approx half the amount of sodium per tbls. as table salt. So it's basically just a low salt version of brine shrimp ... lol.

    Silly me, but at least I don't have to buy more salt. Won't they last longer in the tank? I only used two pinches per liter.

    except in my local supermarket salt is 50 p per Kilo and Bicarbonate of Soda is 10 times that price. Salt is still cheaper by miles.
