    We are fortunate in the UK as we have probably the best Ranchu outside Asia although they come at a price. The brutal truth is that notwithstanding many of the positive sounding comments posted, this fish is going nowhere. We would expect to see more hood development on a 3 month old Ranchu and the tail seems to lack strength and flow. But as always, as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

    As for issues with pellets soaking them first should elevate any bladder issues. It is usually a result of food adsorbing water after being eaten and expanding

    I think you are making great progress, I caution you to observe the fish from the top and make sure the fish is not becoming pear shaped. When he seems a little fat, slow feeding or even stop for a few days. This dieting has the added benefit if increasing wen growth substantially

    What I like most about this ranchu is the lovely solid red colouring. Its a feature I'm trying to achieve with my lionhead breeding.
