I understand that many members of this forum have chosen to raise their ranchu in shallow rectangular ponds, and their tosakin in shallow round bowls (both traditional Japanese methods). Is there anyone here who follows the traditional Chinese method of raising their fish in those large ceramic pots? My local nursery stocks beautiful, large pots and I would like to invest in one or two for goldfish.

I don't have the time to raise them in bowls, bowl require frequent and large water changes almost daily. If you are willing to put in the time and energy into it, by all means go for it.

That would be a small pond.
