What kind of ranchu is this?

    Does anyone know what kind of Ranchu this is? And will he get any bigger? He’s roughly 3 inches.

    He's cute. He's a "matte pinky" type which means he lacks pigment. He kinda looks like a lionhead rather than a Ranchu but I always mix up the two and am likely wrong. He should grow if he's young.

    Oh okay. I got him a couple of days ago. Not sure how long the store had him for. They said he was a ranchu but he looks different yet interesting!

    Unfortunately pinky matt fish are usually weaker and may not live as long as the other scale type fish.

    Pinky matts can be weak and more susceptible to cold but they can also be the largest and most robust of the spawn. Nice fish.
