Is potassium permanganate the preferred method to cleanse plants? Is there a more potent /more effective treatment out there? How are you prepping your plants before they go into a fancy pond?
I have noticed that little tiny black mite-type bugs seems perfectly happy after I tried to absolutely fry any bug type thing in a *potent* permanganate bath. I'm not worried about the little black mites per se, but this doesn't give me confidence that its killing other microscopic things.
