Breeders, Has anyone tried killing flukes before the eggs hatch. I have had trouble with flukes and treat for flukes at one week old with prazi.
What do you breeders do to control flukes in fry. I have trashed 3 large spawns this year because of them. I am on a mission to kill them before they kill my fry.

The flukes need a few days to hatch. We usually treat from hatching, but I also treated eggs already. We haven't lost fry to flukes since.
Maybe your parent fish should be treated too? Do you put spawning mops into the parents' tank and remove the mops to fresh water (cuts back on flukes)? Or do you let them spawn in an established tank and then remove the parents (will probably cause heavier infestation)?
For how long did you treat with Prazi?

i had the same problem. and now treat everybody, parents, eggs and the fry live in the prazi. Learned to do that from Sabine and Gunther.

I tend to use Trichorocide on the fry once they are free swimming. Some of the old guys use formalin on the eggs for a 10 miniutes, I myself have not tried this.

Thanks for the replies. I mostly hand spawn them into plastic shoe box containers. I then put them in a 10 gal. tank with half fresh water and half tank water. Air stone and cycled sponge filter. I think I should treat the adults several days before I think they will spawn. The next spawns I will treat them when they hatch.
