Welcome everyone. Time to get started. First off, this is our club, not mine, not Freds, etc. So we need everyones input to get rolling.

Here are my ideas for club goals:

1. Promote the TVR hobby within the US.
2. Promote the AGA
3. Get members breeding lines of TVRs, and passing those offspring to others
4. To have at least one annual show a year, Japanese style(tubs and bowls) judging to Japanese standards.
5. Promote the other Top view Japanese breeds... Tosakin, nankin, top view oranda, LF ranchu... etc

Thoughts?

Id love to join but curious as to how can one be educated with the standards. Can I learn online or is this something I should be attending?

Well we will post standards as part of the membership. But right now the main thing is getting things rolling. Oh, the AGA standards do now have top view standards for ranchu........

Here are what i recommend on this Club.
First, we might need to form a club. We need President, vice president ,and so on.
Then we'll need to come up with the club name by voting.
Also, We might have to create a new Club website. (This section on the webboard will be part of this Ranchu club)
After we have form a club, then i think President could lead this club to a direct decision.

Do we want officers or just a board of directors??

My club name was just a suggestion, North American Ranchu Club. Any others??

I already have Fred working on a club website, if we get enough interest...

Lets hear from you all!

Ok, so we need to appoint defacto officers to get things rolling? Nominees? volunteers?

May I ask what the requirements are to join this club? I am all for educating people on Jap. TVR's and I would love to learn more about them myself! However, I can say right now that I really don't know much about them as of right now...just what I have gleaned from reading posts here.:youtellme:

We don't have any requirements to join the club. If you want to learn something about TVR or love TVR, you are welcomed to join us.

i have a thought for "your" club, or is it Fred's, i forget ;) if there are bylaws i would add this:

If somebody gives you a fish you are obligated to pay it forward, backwards and sidewards.

Gary's "goldfish are for sharing" should be our mode-de-vie, mantra, motto or whatever. it builds friendships, bloodlines and the hobby. many in this group have been very generous in helping others stock their ponds with good fish to get started—hats off to you! (won't mention names i know of because i know there many more people sharing fish that i don't know of.)

I think we should add a piece about co-operative breeding to produce NA based lines.... oh yeah and the beer " making better Ranchu's one beer at a time!"
