Not sure if this is the right section for this question. But does anyone know where you can purchase white enamel show/viewing bowls used for TVR ?

Go to e-Bay and search for "white enamelware bowl". You can almost always find the 12-inch size listed. The 18-inch are harder to come by. The little 6- to 8-inch ones are also handy to have around the fish room.

Thanks for the info Steve. Have searched internet and either not right type of bowl (toilet :D ) or on japaneese site. In this hobby, it would be great to learn japan/china/thai languages. Wealth of info if I could read it.

Paul, never used before to know sizes. Would probably try to get like one of each size steve mentioned above to start depending on prices. Want to use for taking pictures, inspecting fish, and just general utility.

If you have an Asian neighborhood around you, it might be worth it to check out one of their supermarkets. I know here in NYC, the enamel bowls are super easy to get in Flushing, at almost any of the major Asian superstores.

Thanks for the info guys. Will check it out.

As far as plastic tubs and containers. Is there any that should be avoided ? I thought I read somewhere that you should avoid styrene ? It leaches into water ?

Have a Dollar stores and Family dollar in my area. Will have to check and see what they have.

My Asian market has white plastic tubs about the size of the original ranchu bowls. They run about $6. I have a few enamel ones but just use them for special occasions because I can just chuck the plastic ones back on to the pile with out risk of chipping.

Back to putting in the new 340 and 240 gallon tanks...

I think that is what I would like to do also. Use plastic for everyday utility. Get a 12" and 18" enamel bowls for show/etc.
