One of my SVRs has had this redness around the eye for 2 days. It's much better after 2 days of antibiotic dip (15 min Oxolinic once a day). Initially, there was a lot of swelling of eye and the wen around it and the color was bright red suggesting active bleeding, now it's turning purple (clotting up). Any idea? This happened so fast (overnight). I'm thinking trauma with possible secondary infection, but lets see what you guys think.
Fish was sluggish initially, now acting normal after 2 dips of antibiotic.

It doesn't look like it was caused by an injury in the pic, but if the wen was also "bruised-looking", then it prolly was. I would keep an eye on it and if you see any change, just report it to the guys here. The eye was not bulged or anything, was it?

It's tough to determine whether the eye was protruding or not since the fish has a lot of wen, but the wen around that eye was definitely swollen. The swelling has since gone down but the discoloration around the eye margin remains.
I'm still doing the daily dip and will probably snap another photo in a few days to compare. I might isolate her for 24hr bath if this is getting worse, too lazy to set up another tank, lol.

Last day of oxolinic dip. The eye looks pretty good now. I don't think I'll ever know what happened, but the fish is alive and kicking...and that's all that matters to me.
