Hello all experts,

I need some suggestion from you. I am having problem with some blood worms(inside the filter) like inside of my fish tank(silver and black color) and filter. Have you guys running into the same problem in the past? How do you guys cleaning it up? It seems like the worms always coming back after I take down the filter and cleaning the filters fully. Any suggestion is welcome.

I have done this step. It seem work for me without take down the filter. Just in case those worms come back and attack again!!!

I put about 10 lbs aquarium salts into the 29 gallon fishtank and let it run for 3 days. It seems like salts have been kills all the worms and their eggs.

But please share with your experience.

Thanks in advance

I never have that kind of problem with my filteration. HOwever, if i do have any kind of problem like your case and they just keep coming back. What i would do is start everything from scrath. I just dump Cholrine which can be bought from most pool shop. Leave it there for a day. Then remove all water out then fill in with new fresh water. Leave it for another day or so. Note: cholrine could kill anything in the tank/tub/whatever! Leave tank running for couple day and chorline will just evaporate.

Sounds like it could be planeria. Keep your mechanical media clean. If you have gravel, vacuum it more. If it is planeria then there is waste that they are feeding on. So what kind of filter do you use?
