I was wondering what you guys feed your black fish and does it help retain the black?

Environment, nutrition and genetics all play a role. Black fish do best when kept against a dark background in natural sunlight.

Thanks guys, I have been feeding gel food, prawns, bits of orange, broccoli, and peas to this guy. I am looking into the gel food to make sure I use veggies that aren't loaded with vit A. I have 220 watts of light on my 125 gallon and have a dark blue backround on it. This time of year the sun is kinda hard to find.

My experience suggests that cooler water is better
