I got a good deal (I think, lol) on a Fluval XF5 canister filter that I plan on putting on the 75 gallon. Currently I am running a Fluval 404 canister and 2 Emperor 400's on there. My question is will the FX5 be enough on there or should I keep one of the others on as well? And if so,which,an Emporor or the 404? I was planning on leaving one for at least a couple of weeks anyway till the new one gets broke in and using some of the BioMax from the 404. I currently have 4 Oranda's (Tuck,Black Velvet,Sprite and the orange guy) in there but am thinking about adding one more eventually. They are in the 6" t0 8.5" range (including tails). I don't want to blast the poor things around like they are living in a rip tide, lol. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm hoping to get things switched around tomorrow.

I think you should put the FX5 on a brand new tank to fill with more goldies.
Seriously, I think you have enough filtration. How do you filters handle your fish now? Are you happy with them? I do not know how much current the FX5 outs out, but I am sure someone else will tell you who owns that one.
I have two emporers, too. I really do not care for them at all. I want to dump mine soon.
I own one and used it on my old 75 gallon and it kept up with the load fine. I didn't use any other filters with it there was no need to. You can add the old biological media to the baskets of the FX5 and hopefully have no mini cycle. My fish did fine with the current. It was and is still on my ranchu tank.Just a bigger tank now.
BTW I'm hoping you got it for 200 and free shipping.......

Thanks Anjo! Yes,I did, lol. Gotta love E-Bay. I set it up this morning. Ended up leaving the 404 on as well at least for now. Current doesn't seem too much stronger than it was before.
