Hi Jed
I use baytril 100 (enrofloxacin) diluted 1:10 in sterile saline.
The dose is 5 to 10 mg/kg every other day for 3 to 5 injections.
The fish usually get better after the first but I give a minimum of 3.
This is the protocol I use:

Hey David,
Welcome to GFK.

i think this post should be in goldfish Clinic :ST:
David, I've been using Baytril for years. I usually give them three injections as well. I have to thank Rick Hess for personally showing me how to inject goldfish. I was so nervous at first, but now...it's a piece of cake.
Yes, Fred, it's time. You can save a lot of fish using injectables.
Aren't they by prescription only? In my area there are not any vets that specialize in fish.

I just call my dog's vet and he supplies with meds and syringes. However, my first trip, I had to take my fish.

The great thing about baytril is it's shelf life. It's very stable at room temperature.
You do have to get a prescription but once you have it it lasts a long time and in my case still works very well even after it's expiration date.

Yes! It keeps for a long time.
I have also used baytril with great success as an injectable. I have also invested in a good microscope which has really helped me with identifying pathogens
