Hey there gusgail, just joined the forum, you've probably already made a decision on this. I bought the 24 watt model and the new double prong model. It worked great at first and then just quit after a few months of 12hrs a day use. They sent me a new one and it didn't even last 12hrs and it quit again. So now I'm getting a coralife turbo twist instead.

cjdevesa, Is it possible that you burnt out your bulb by not having enough flow through the unit? I got a 57watt UV rated for about a 4,000 gallon pond and I was warned to have flow in the thousands of gallons/hour to prevent burnout. Maybe 24 watt is a whole 'nother story but I hope you won't lose more money if that's the problem - that's money you could be spending on goldfish :P

Hi Casper, the green killing machine comes complete with its own pump so I didn't burn out the bulb.
