if you haven't already, you may want to buy a copy of Fancy Goldfish: a complete guide to care and collecting, by Johnson and Hess.

When I first got in the hobby i spent alot of money on goldie books that were a total waste, but I've had this book for years now and i still refer to it when I need to know stuff. :)

Post pics of your babies. It will help to learn what is a good fish what can be improved. You just have to be receptive to comments, good or bad. Many here are professionals and they do not have the time to write long courteous post, so keep that in mind.

I know I sure did learn MUCH from guys here. They are good people with good intentions.
