Gosh I just posted pictures of my ryukins and am a new member here.
Did I miss something somewhere that said you had to be a professional breeder or show person to join this site?
Is everyone on here as rude and unwelcoming and snobs like the person who shot down my pictures of my pet Ryukins?
Maybe I joined the wrong site.:badidea:

this site is for everyone from newbies to professional breeders who have been in the hobby for 50 years plus. If you post pics here you are going to get a wide range of comments, from good to bad to ugly, just the way it goes, please do not take it all to heart, if you are enjoying your ryukins then keep on keeping on! Ryukins are my breed of choice. they are nice fish, if you want to beef up the hump a bit feed higher protien foods. Welcome and please do not let one persons negative comments sway you from this site, there is much to glean here and al ot of very nice people!!

Mindemae don't be upset you posted your fish and you got an honest answer back. I think your fish look very nice and very healthy looking but at the same time they don't quite fit the Ryukin standard.
Try to have thicker skin and remember there is no such thing as the perfect Ryukin. If there is I haven't seen it.

Hi Mindemae,
Welcome to GFK and we are not blocking anybody who is willing to learn the art of goldfish. Hope you understand.

Well I think negative comments should be kept to ones self.
I didn't post my Ryukins in the critique section.
I only posted pictures where I thought all members posted just pet pictures.
If I wanted a critique I would have posted in the critique section and asked for an opinion!

I wouldn't sweat it. Some people just have to have their say. This is the internet..I would just take the good with the bad.>:D<

On the other hand, I said a nice compliment about your fish, welcomed you here, and so did others. You did not acknowledge any of these posts, only the one that made you upset. This could be seen as being rude, or snobbish as well. Smilies are helpful too, at letting someone know your feelings.:)

How about we start over.
Welcome to GFK. I just came here today. I had joined a while back but must have forgotten. Received an email and here I am. I looked it over this morning and it looks like a nice, friendly, well put together site. It also does appear that there are many people here who show their fish. There are other GF sites out there that are more geared towards pet keepers, like you and I. I like joining several sites and meeting all kinds of people. You will most likely glean some good learning from this site if you stick around. There is always something new to learn.
