It seems majority of the eggs were hatched within 12 hrs.
Should I pull the plug? What do you guys think?

If you need to feed your fry ASAP, then disconnect the airhose and shine a light at the bottle neck. Use a turkey baster to suck out some shrimp, then empty the baster into a shallow dish of clear water. Hook your air supply back up to keep the remainder hatching/alive. Once the shrimp in the dish collect in a corner, suck them up with the turkey baster and feed them to your fry. This way you will increase your hatch rate, and keep the bbs alive for longer. The "rinse" process helps to separate the shells and reduces the ammonia that gets carried over.
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks Rob. I guess I will give them another 12 hrs. I've never rinse the BBS before feeding because I do not have a BBS net, so all the BBS will down to the drain if I rinse them in tap water. I just use a turkey baster suck them up and spread them in a coffee filter, then I rinse the coffee filter in the tank. It seems to be working fine.
When all eggs hatched, I pour everything in the bottle to a bowl. I see there are a lot of red color BBS sink at the buttom of the bowl, others would swimming around. Are the ones stay at the buttom dead?

You don't need a bbs shrimp to rinse. By first squirting the baster into a fresh water pan (I use a shallow rectangular Tupperware container), the bbs will naturally migrate to the brightest corner, and then you can suck them back up without all the shells and ammonia. They only take about a minute to move to the corners.

They may be dead, or not quite hatched yet. Unless you feed them all to your fish right away, they won't last long in the bowl. The Oxygen level will drop and they will die and become smelly. It is best to keep the unused portion aerated until you are ready to use them.

Your soda bottle is upside down. cut the bottom off, leave the cap on and you have a conical bottom hatching cone (http://goldfishgarage.blogspot.com/2010/09/brine-shrimp-cone.html). Much easier to clean as that orange bacterial build up will really start to cause problems.
What kind of eggs and at what temperature are you getting hatches in 12 hours? The fastest I've seen is 18 hours.

It's hard to see in the pic, but the bottle is up right. I didn't cut or modify the bottle as air bubbles make water all over the place. The temp is around 80F, Grade A eggs from brineshrimp direct. Yeah, the orange bacterial is building up. It's hard to clean.
I saw people use two soda bottle and they cut them stack them togther. I need get another soda bottle.

This is how I was doing it and it worked pretty good as long as I
kept track of when I started them off.

My eggs come with a small white plastic spoon in the can. I assume it's one tea spoon?
How many tea spoons of eggs do you add to your cut in half soda bottle? It seems a lot of BBS in them.
What's the purpose of the water glass/cup at the bottom?

Thats one teaspoon in each bottle.
The cups of course are to hold the bottle but the water was to keep the eggs warm. They were all sitting on the top of a flourecent light fixture, the heat from the fixture would heat the water and in turn heat the BS eggs.
I have the airline going all the way into the bottom of the bottle (which is the cap in this case) and the bubble are vigorouse.
Hope this helps.

How do you separate the live BBS from the salty water in the end? Do you pour everything in a BBS net or just dump everything in a tray of fresh water?
That's a lot of hatched BBS for just one tea spoon? What type of eggs? (90% hatch rate)?
It's a good idea to keep the cups on top of the light fixure. Thanks for the info, very helpful.

It just looks like alot.
I have no idea what the hatch rate is, it seems to change with every batch I make.
I use a turkey baster then squeeze the shrimp into a shrimp net then
into the tank.

Shrimp net? Is it BBS net or just a brine shrimp net?
I bought a brine shrimp net and it still couldn't hold all the BBS I pour in. So I figure there is a net for BBS out there.
I think the sality or PH level drive the hatch rate as I am assuming the sality and PH level fluctuates everytime you try to hatch. I do have a sality meter for my salt water tank, but I never bother to test the salt water for hatching the eggs.

I don't know if it has an official name but its about 2"x2" and has a very fine
mesh net. You can't see through it. You can get it at (petco) (petland) any of those places.
