I've had tosakins at one time from Thailand but I bred them only once before I lost them all. Through Paul (xxxxxxxxxxxx), I came to know about the Kinoshita line of Tosakins. John Parker has a group of really nice Tosakins and I forgot to ask him from which breeder they originated from. After chatting about all the ranchu bloodlines in North America, suddenly, I'm curious about the famous breeders of Tosakins. Maybe Tosakin-fancier can help me/us out here? or anyone knows some famous Tosakin breeders?

Well, in thailand i think u already know about mr. boss whose fish is from the kinoshita bl or kinoshita x kousaka bl, theres also the the Goldfish2u bl by Mr. Chatchai (ranchuart) and theres also the somchai farm bl but i don't know if they're still in the business. In japan, of course theres the Mr. Ogawa hideki bl, Mr. Ooga's bl, the Saijo bl, the Kuranishi bl, Kubota bl and the Tateishi bl. But of course, many of these breeders don't ship their fish outside of JAPAN. The ones with the very extremely superb fishes usually don't sell their fish to outsiders. Except for Mr. Ogawa of course and mr. kinoshita. The things about the kinoshita bloodline is that it has beautiful colouration but not very nice tail. mAYBE IN 10 fishes you'll find only 2 or 3 with really nice tail. What i mean by nice is the tail flip....yes, some of them does have nice flips but most of them have flips that are too weak to be visible...they usually fold up when they swim. I really like the ogawa, saijo, and the kuranishi bloodline. The kuranishi bl won the tosakin comp. in 2010. They're famous for their red blotched with white colouration. But i think the most beautiful fish that can be imported from Japan is the Yomogida bloodline. I'M sure that some of you had seen this bloodline on rafflesgold. This bloodline has superb tail and nice body and head. The colour might be a bit dull but i think we gf keepers can work on that.

Here's some pics of the yomogida bloodline tosakins. Some of them have gill plate probs but i think its becoz of the genetics or even poor skills.

LOL...... No betta jars. If I do that, I might as well be breeding show bettas again. The colanders seem to be working, they don't swim much...LOL

Are these Tosakins yours? Can you import these to Malaysia?

Have you heard anything about Nihashi bloodline? According to a supplier, I'll be getting some of Mr. Nihashi's Tosakins next month. Are they any good? I've only seen samples on a picture.

Well, mine was from the same shipment and batch as these tosakins...hmmm its quite similar to the one in the second pic the top fish...all-orange. Actually these pics are from a tosakin breeder in THAILAND, Mr. Chatchai...he imported these last year. I really like his fish maybe you guys should import from him. And yes we can import these into Malaysia but i've never directly imported the fish from Japan. I usually take them from thai breeders and importers.

Well, i've never seen the Nihashi's tosakins before....but they do have really nice ranchus... winning many awards in japan. They are actually koi dealers but they've jumped into the gf world in the past few years. Here's some pic of their ranchus :
