Here is a video of my pond fish that are just coming out of hibernation. I have started to give them a little food. Hopefully I can breed the wakins this spring.

Your weather must be milder. I have had two wakin and two bristols venture out today in my 300 gallon rubbermaid pond. The other fish are still hiding under the milk crate.
Is your pond a liner pond? I am debating whether to build a liner pond (because it can be large) or put in another 300 gallon rubbermaid livestock tank pond) easy to maintain....
I hope you breed your wakin. I think they are a terrific pond variety. Beautiful and hardy. If you get lots of fry, and I am moved, I might take some. Please keep me in mind. I would like to see more US hobbyists concentrate on wakin.

It is a linear pond. I have had it set up for 3+ years with no problems. I will keep you in mind if the wakin spawn. If I get my fish room remodeled in time I may bring them in and through them in a tank with spawning mops or do the same outside once their mood is right.

Just set up a new blog and you can cut and paste the html from a blogger posting into a new post on the new blog and set the date down at the bottom and you'll be in business.

The goldfish in the pond are spawning like crazy. Here is how I have it set up. A lot of learning this year that I will put into play next year. I'm trying to come up with a way to isolate specific pairs for breeding but keep them in the pond. Maybe with a box net.
