Hello,

I'm Alex, and I hail from Arkansas. My family has kept goldfish my whole life, but I've only been seriously into this obsession for a couple of years. I was introduced to this site by Sakura, and I've been lurking on the forum reading these excellent posts for the past week or so. I thought I should say hello, and hope to be an active contributing member of this forum.

I'd like to share the following video with you. Thank you for looking :)

Hi, Joe. Thank you! 3 of those came from DO. As for Jennie's influence, she certainly does have very beautiful fish, and it certainly has influenced my fondness for butterfly tails :)

Hi, Alex and welcome. You're tank is gorgeous as are your fish! My husband is from Arkansas and we lived in Little Rock a couple of years ago.

Thank you, Zenfish :). I'm in Fort Smith. I go to Little Rock at least once a month for work and/or taking my mom to go see her doctors at the medical center there. When you & your husband lived in LR, did you ever go to the Green Thumb Garden Center? They have a stupendous selection of koi, and some really nice goldies also.

Hey Alex! Nice to see you here too! :)

Edited: Haha, just realized that's the video that me and my 2 yr old enjoyed so much! Still cracks me up that she said your fish were big and strong just like her Daddy! lol

Beautiful! What is the substrate? I love the black but can't tell what it is.
Is that a 75g? Love the video, very pretty set-up!

Thanks Vahlla & Marlin08.

Vahlla, it is the same video :)

Marlin08 - it's only a 55. It's overstocked, and right now I'm having a hard time deciding which one(s) to move over into my other 55. I'm having a hard time making a decision, though. So, for right now, I'm doing 2x water changes each week. I'm either going to keep them as they are and upgrade to a bigger tank, and I'm going to add a 20 gallon sump to that set up. The substrate is made by Caribsea, and it's called Instant Tahitian Moon Sand. I really like it, and the fish seem to also :)
