Steve,
What are your TVR bloodline seeds? Just curious!
Any pictures on your seeds?

The Matsuyamas have decolored and the Oishi are doing well.
How many are you working with?
I lost a few Matsuyamas during a large remodel of the fish room but have 4 nice fish and I believe I have 5 or 6 of the Oishi.

Mine are Monden bloodline Paul. Old-man Monden is known for a TVR that is a little longer than most lines. I am sure his trademark is as much the result culling/selection as genetics. I think it is his grandson carrying on the line now. The Monden line had sort of fallen out of favor for a while but there is a resurgence now and I hear it has become popular again.
You can find photos of some of my broodstock near the bottom of the page here:

Hey everyone! I see lots of familiar names at this board. Nice to have a domestic spot for us to congregate.
I have 5 Oishi, they are 4 years old. Handpicked by Mr. Oishi for myself on a trade for sculpture. I have a new sculpture I would like to give Mr. Oishi, inspired by the incredible quality of fish I received from him. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Mr Oishi, or his address? Is anyone going to be visiting breeders in Japan this year? I would even give that person this sculpture to hand deliver. Now that's how business is done in Japan......with a meaningful gift.

Nice to see you on here.... Did you get some spawns from your Oishi yet?

No and it's about to make me nuts! I had those 5 fish in 700 gallon pond all spring, summer and fall hoping they'd be happy enough to spawn.. I'm going to need some help to figure this out for this spring.

Hmm.... be careful when cleaning. I was cleaning out my main pond for the winter this fall, and low and behold, found 25 BBRs swiming in the foliage. I actually got 4 decent fish after culling. It is tough in the bigger ponds, thats why I keep my breeders in shallow tubs now to keep a better eye. Ranchus are stubborn though....

I have two fairly nice Mita from Gary. He generously gave me more, but I had a catastrophe when out of town - and lost a number of them. Only 2 left. Sigh.
I hope to get a few more so I can start breeding them..... that would be NICE! :)
