Help planning sump filter

I am interested in getting a sump on my 170g.Another member suggested I may talk w/ a lfs about it and have them put it together. What I need to know is what are the best ideas for sumps for goldfish? I want to use an overflow box-and would really appreciate the input for the rest from the people who know goldfish.Thank you.

It has been working wonderfully with the expected maintenance every so often. Actually pretty low maintenance.
