Prazi Question

I have the AquaPrazi from Goldfish Connection, it's a powder form. Do any of you guys use this kind too? I've found it's difficult/impossible to actually get it to dissolve in the water. I have tried measuring out the powder and then putting it in a small jar with some tank water and shaking it up well before putting it in the tank, but even that doesn't work. I've heard that some people use vodka (or some other alcohol?) to get the prazi to dissolve, but is that safe? What do you guys do?

When I use Prazi, I mix a bit of Melafix with some warm water in a jar, shake it up vigorously then add it to my tank. It will create a few bubbles but it will definitely dissolve.

I used vodka after reading some suggestion. It is safe. I did not put a lot of vodka, btw.

Yes, Vodka..... just a little. Don't want to drink too much.. LOL.. One shot for the prazi, one shot for you.

I use about a tablespoon of vodka or whiskey. Stir for about 20 second s and it goes right into solution

Alright, thanks guys! I'm treating about 60 gallons of water, so I'm going to add 1/3 teaspoon of Prazi to the tank. About how much vodka should I mix in to get the prazi to dissolve?

It doesn't really matter 1 or 2 teaspoons

Haha! Okay thanks! I have yet another question. I don't think the liquor store is open today and I have no vodka in the house. Can I use rubbing alcohol instead? If not, I'll just wait until tomorrow.

Nope, don't do this ethanol is way different than isopropanol. Go borrow a tablespoon full from a neighbor

It doesn't really matter that the Prazi is slow to dissolve. It looks unsightly for a couple days, but it works nonetheless.
