Just another video of my two broadtails. I changed up the tank decor a little bit. I always prefer really minimal tanks to better showcase the fish. Of course, it has the added benefit of being easy to clean, and fewer hazards for the fish too.

Absolutely gorgeous. I had always been a fan of this minimalistic setup.

There's something very 'right' about that set-up. Not only practical but aesthetically pleasing. Nice job.

If you ever breed these guys, I would like to have some culls that have closed tales with straight edges. I thik they would be perfect for creating broadtail Orandas

As Gary mentioned : Good fish to develop broadtail orandas. They both look males (to me) though. Nice setup! How is the plant fixed at that level? Is it just floating at that level?

They both have breeding stars, but Glenn insists the larger one is female. The larger one is a lot rounder and definitely has less breeding stars than the smaller one. I assumed that maybe this was one of those cases where the fish is genetically supposed to be a male, but something happened during development to make it develop into a female. What do you guys think about that? :youtellme: I hope Glenn's right though because I would love it if they spawned!

Thanks for the comments on the tank! The light is just a 6700K fluorescent that I got from Wal mart. Not the greatest, but it works and it was cheap.

Oh and also, the plant is held in place by a clear veggie feeder clip at both ends. I just clipped the plant on it and suction-cupped it to the glass where I wanted it.
